Grubby Gurgle, Stanky Stoo,and Ooga Mooga are a happy, grungy singing group in their funky garbage dump home ill Snooty Judy butterfly comes along. Judy rocks their world when she informs the trio that they can't sing, are ugly, and they smell. The desperate Gnarlies wrap themselves in cocoons made of junk in hopes that they will emerge as beautiful butterflies just like Judy. Things don't quite go as planned, however...
